The Federal Bureau of intelligence is warning tech companies in the US that those who show up as candidates or prospects for remote software jobs might not be real people. Therefore they need to be on the watch for deepfake applicants
The deepfake’s users hack the personal information of users in databases of various companies. Merge the personal identification information with modern imaging technology and they use it to trich companies that are hiring remotely. Their main aim in securing employment is to gain access to the company’s customers’ financial data and other information.
They use AI(artificial intelligence) to overlay another person’s voice onto someone else and this can be in real-time. However, employers have caught up with some of these job candidates who are deepfake because the technology is not yet effective. This sometimes happened because the interviewee’s actions and movement of the lips did not sync. However, this technology is still maturing and soon it will be difficult to spot these loopholes.
