Are you Smart enough to install AD blockers? Well, I’m man enough to deliver the ad to your DM(inbox).Whether you’re a user or creator of technology or both(since you can’t create what you don’t consume) you have seen some unusual pop ups on a website or mobile app, which are oftenly more annoying than relevant to you.Relax, that’s how we make some little cash when you use our platforms for free, so let us be. Even that adblocker has ads too.Now Mr/madam developer, imagine you can still run ads in your platform, be it an app or website without necessarily using Google ads.By the way, you can develop your own algorithm to deliver ads to users in your platform.
Google developers are not gods, they just took advantage of your laziness and made you believe they’re better and unfortunately you believed it. They pay you on basis of impressions and engagements an ad gets in your platform and that’s where the trouble begins. Definitely they do cap both but mostly, the engagements so that they reap millions from your hard work and reward you with a token. We can’t condemn them for this, after all they are in BUSINESS and they are there to make money, not to make you rich.
Before I forget, if you have adsense / admob code in your platform, Google will advertise your immediate competitors directly in your platform-just imagine if Jumia had Google ads and as you’re trying to purchase a TV set you see an ad advertising the same on Amazon – what a conflict of interest! Any intermediate experienced developer can access users location,Climate/weather(from WOEID API), extract time at their end, cookies(for site) and user activity. Those parameters are more than enough for a start to deliver relevant ads to your users.
~I’m sure those ads won’t be annoying~No one can make an ad blocker for your in-house algorithm
~You’ll get 100% of revenues from your ads
~Yes gigs might not come as soon as you wish but as long as you have traffic, they’ll look for you.
In a recent project, I developed a customer care chat bot for WhatsApp and Telegram to help our clients search products in our ecommerce, create account /reset password, find a vacant house around specific areas among other services on Digital Comrade App. You simply send a message /command to the bot via whatsapp or Telegram and it sorts you immediately. I decided to try and push a few ads to the user in the user-bot conversation threads and guess what? Over 80% of the ads were marked as “seen” in both WhatsApp and Telegram analytics, and so with your own algorithm you can perfectly send Ads to your users in their DMs
